Putnam County Obituaries
David Henry Reid Eatonton,
Feb. 6 - The remains of David Henry Reid, formerly of this county, who
died at the Confederate soldiers home in
Atlanta yesterday, were brought here for interment on the family burial
lot today. Mr. Reid was 72 years
of age, and is survived by two brothers, Tax Collector J. Calhoun Reid,
of this city, and Ed Reid, of Atlanta.
He was a first honor graduate of South Carolina's leading college prior
to the civil war, and a member of one of
Georgia's best known families. As a former Confederate soldier he
entered the soldiers' home near Atlanta
after the death of his brother, Capt. A. S. Reid, and spent his last
years in peace and contentment among his old
comrades in arms.

DIED. At his residence in Putnam county, Mr. Isaac Underwood, after an
illness of seven days.

Private H. G. Carnes
The body of H. G. Carnes, company E, Second Georgia infantry, who died
Tuesday afternoon, was sent to his home in Eatonton, Ga., for interment
this afternoon.

W.H. Wright died
yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the home of his son, W. O.
Wright, 724 Woolfolk street.
Mr. Wright was 70 years of age and had been in declining health for
several months. He was born in Putnam county in 1846 and had lived here
only for the past year. He was the father of W. O. and T. G. Wright, of
Macon: J. H. of Gray, and K Wright, of Jacksonville, Two sisters. Mrs.
Alex Wray, of Eatonton, and Mrs. Lizzie Ross, of Milledgeville, also
survive.
The body, accompanied hy the family, will be taken to James, today at 1
p. m. for funeral and interment. Tha services will be conducted by
Elder W, J. Green on arrival of the train from Macon.

Died In Putnam county, on the 14th inst. much lamented by a numberous
circle of friends, Mrs. Peterson.
On the 21st ult. Miss Georgia Anna
Hawkins, eldest daughter of the late Col. Ben Hawkins. In this
amiable female were blended all those qualities that render life
estimable.

Rogers Clarke, "the father of the western country."

BURNETT HARRIS.
EATONTON, April 12—Burnett Harris died
on Monday afternoon at 12 o'clock at the home of her sister, Mrs.
Sid Edmondson, at Meda. He had been ill for a long time though he
was only confined to his bed the past few weeks. At the time of his
death he was 35 years of age. He was a son of the late Dr. and Mrs. I.
L. Harris and a grandson of Judge Iverson L. Harris. The funeral
took place on Tuesday morning at MilIedgevilla, the former home of Mrs.
Harris, he is survived by his sister, Mrs. Edmondson, of Eatonton.
