Hospital Is Destroyed By Fire in Cuthbert
CUTHBERT. Ga.. Feb. 20. (UP)
—Two patients were, believed to have perished early today when fire destroyed Patterson's hospital here.
Those missing were Mrs. Allison Sealey, Sr., and Mrs. W. W. Jones, both of Cuthbert. All other patients were carried to safety by hospital personnel.
Firemen were hampered In battling the blaze, the origin of which was not determined Immediately, because the mingle pump on the only available fire engine did not create sufficient water pressure
The fire departments of Americas. Dawson, and Albany, Ga., and Eufaula. Ala., responded to calls for help but arrived too late to prevent destruction of the building.
The hospital was the only one in this area. It was operated by Dr. J. C. Patterson, Dr. W. G. Elliott, and Dr. R. B. Martin.
