Macon Telegraph, 26 Oct. 1915
OCILLA, Ga., Oct. 25. – J. W. Tyler, an honorable and well respected citizen of Ocilla, died suddenly this morning just before his usual time of rising from his bed. Mr. Tyler woke his wife and inquired of her what time she would like to get up, after which he immediately turned over and in a few moments Mrs. Tyler ascertained that he had died, of what physicians pronounced heart failure, having been troubled with his heart for some time.
Mr. Tyler moved to Ocilla from Wilcox county several years ago and raised a family of several children. Funeral arrangements have not been announced, but it is presumed that internment will take place here tomorrow.
