An event of much interest to a
large circle of friends in Washington and Wilkes county was the
marriage of Mrs. Anson L. King and John W. Callaway, Jr., which was
solemnized Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock at the residence of Rev. T. A.
Naab. Mrs. Callaway is the widow of the late Major Anson L. King, of
the state militia. Mr. Callaway is the son of John W. Callaway, Sr.,
commissioner of roads and revenues for Wilkes county and deputy sheriff
at Wilkes.
