Notice to Patrons
    With this issue of the Chieftain the proprietorship passes to Mr. Joe H. DeWitt, who for the past six years has published the Star at Dolores, Colo. Mr. DeWitt comes to Soda Springs well recommended and it is hoped that the generous support, good will and many courtesies enjoyed by the Chieftain in the past will be extended to him by the patrons of this paper. All persons knowing themselves indebted to the Chieftain for advertising and job printing will confer a favor by making remittances not later than February 15th. The subscription accounts are payable to Mr. DeWitt. Respectfully, L.H. Willett.

Our Bow
    With this issue of the Idanha Chieftain the undersigned assumes charge. We come to Soda Springs an entire stranger, but hope to soon become acquainted so that we will no misspell your name or call you Tom when your name is John. We are not expecting to move the mountains or accomplish wonders, but we do believe that there is a chance to make a living here in the newspaper business, and having been actively engaged in that line for the past ten years, we feel that we are entitled to the belief that we are qualified to handle the business. We shall endeavor, in so far as we may deem practicable, to follow the course of our predecessor. Mr. L.H. Willett, and trust that we may make the Chieftain worthy of the --------------------------------- takes they will be of the head and not of the heart, as it will be our aim to treat all alike and try to do the right thing at the right time. There is ample opportunity for the betterment of conditions and the advancement of the entire community, and, with your assistance, we hope to make the Chieftain a factor in the growth of Soda Springs and vicinity. Judge E.S. Whittier is ill with small pox at Pocatello.

Enright-Largilliere Co. are distributing some very pretty calendars.

Tablets, box paper, envelopes, ink pens and pencils at Anderson's Drug store.

Several carloads of sawdust have been shipped from this city during the past month.

Geo. W. Goodheart and J.L. Thiel returned Tuesday from a hunting trip down the valley.

A small shipment of cattle and sheep wa made from the stock yards this week by M.H. Wakeman.

Mrs. George S. Horsley of Henry, lest yesterday for a visit with Mrs. L.S. Marriott of Ogden.

Station Agent J. Strachan has been on the sick list the past few days threatened with pneumonia.

------- granted a decree of divorce from Bernt Rund in the district court last Monday.

Ed. Merrell has the largest assortment of comic and sentimental valentines in town. Call early and make your --------.

T.S. Williams returned Saturday from a business trip to Salt Lake City is the interests of the proposed electric light plant.

Mrs. Sarah Rogers, a former resident of Soda Springs, is visiting friends here after an absence of several months in Denver, Colo.

Alex Brown, a prominent Chab Springs ----, was in town Monday making a transfer of some of his Grays Lake property. 

W.W. Atkinson, who has occupied the Strachen ranch for a number of years, last Tuesday moved his family to Boise, where he has secured a fruit ranch.

HENRY HAPPENINGS-

W.H. Chester is quick sick with the rheumatism.

C.B. Weston is visiting his brother, Dr. Weston at the Harden ranch.

Jas. Swank, of Idaho Falls, has taken his brother, who is very sick, to his home in that city. His friends here all hope that he will soon recover.
