REPORT THAT SETTLERS WERE KILLED
Pocatello, Idaho. July 24 -- Late reports here say Bannock Indians have killed a
settler, his wife and child, in the Salt River Valley, and the white men
pursuing the murders killed six of the red skins. Union Pacific Engineer Robert
Fitzpatrick, who pulled the north bound freight into Pocatello at 6 o'clock last
evening, brought the story of the conflict in the Salt River valley.
