GETS BRIDE
IN WEST
Returning to Stevens Point as a bride after an absence
in the west of five years. Esther Belgum Dawley is warmly welcome by
numerous friends here and in this vicinity. At Blackfoot, Idaho, on
Thursday afternoon, July 20, Royal M. Dawley of this city and Miss
Esther Viola Belgum, daughter of A.M. Belgum of Mishicott, Manitowoc
county, were united in marriage by Dr. Dillon, pastor of the
Blackfoot M.E. church. The ceremony was performed at the home of
Mrs. Lee Faulcner, superintendent of the Bingham county schools, and
was formally witnessed by Mr. Faulcner and Miss Laura Faulcner.
Mr. and Mrs. Dawley left for Wisconsin on July 22 and
are making their temporary home at the Mrs. J.P. Chesley residence,
743 Strongs avenue.
Mrs. Dawley graduated from the Stevens Point Normal
School in June 1917, and the next fall went west to Blackfoot, where
she taught two years. The following three years she was principal of
a school at Idaho Falls. During the summer session of 1921 Miss
Blegum attended Chicago university.
Mr. Dawley is a son of Jas. B. Dawley, prominent farmer
near Stockton station. For the past several years he has been
employed by the Soo line as passenger brakeman on trains No. 11 and
12 between Stevens Point and Milwaukee.
