DIED IN THE BATH
Many old Idahoans now residents of Butte will recollect
Patrick Kelly, an old resident of Owyhee county, who, says the Idaho
Avalanche, died on the Bruneau River Wednesday afternoon, July 11,
under peculiar circumstances. The deceased had been complaining of
rheumatism for some time, and went to Bruneau about three weeks
since for the purpose of testing the medicinal properties of the hot
springs at that place. He had been there for perhaps 10 days,
bathing in its waters, always taking someone with him but on the day
on which his death occurred. he was gone much longer than usual when
a member of Mr. Roberson's family went to ascertain the cause and
found him in the water where he had gone to bathe dead. It is
supposed that he remained in the hot water until he became so weak
that he could not get out, although the depth of the water at the
place he was found was but two and a half feet. He was quite an
ald[sic] man, being perhaps 70 years of age.
