Golden Wedding
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. White
celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage last
Wednesday night, in this place, at the residence of their
son, Alexander White. They were married in Paisley,
Scotland, on the
4th of August, 1820. They came to this country in
1851 and settled in
Pike County,
near Barry. In 1863 they removed to Quincey [sic],
where they have ever since resided. A few weeks ago they
came to Barry on a visit. Mr. White was born in 1800 and is
consequently 70 years of age. Mrs. White was born in 1799,
being one year the senior of her husband. They have nine
children living, two of whom, Alexander and William F.- are
well known merchants in this place. The newly wedded pair
left yesterday for their home in Quincy. - Barry (Pike Co.
