Casper Ubner
Casper Ubner was born July 8, 1818
in Steinberg, Ridda, Hesse, learned cooperage in his homeland, came
to the United States in 1842 and settled on Mill Creek in 1843. In
1847 he married Elisabeth Schnellbacher. She was born in Wersau,
Hesse, and came to this country with her parents in 1840. Casper
Uebner farmed many years and died September 20, 1887; the widow
still lives in Fall Creek. Sons of the couple are Andreas Uebner
in Fall Creek and Adam Uebner in Quincy; daughters are Maria König
in Quincy, Elisabeth Kaltenbach in Melrose, Sophie Schmitt in Freeport,
Kansas, Anna Uebner, Emma Watson, and Mathilde Heitholt in Fall Creek.
