PREFACE
We present the Quincy Directory with the belief that it will be found as nearly accurate as any book of the kind can possibly be. The growing importance of the City demands that it's population and businesses should be represented in this shape, and the people of Illinois expresses the hope that this volume will be the first of many.
It depends upon the public spirit of the bud men and the patronage they extend to the enterprise, to determine whether the publication shall be continued.
