MONDAY JANUARY 4, 1904

Arthur Adair was the defendant on a charge of bastardy before Justice Heckankamp this morning in which Mary Nebe was the prosecuting witness. After hearing testimony that threw light upon the prosecuting witness' character, the justice dismissed the case.

MONDAY JANUARY 5, 1904

CHARGED WITH A GRAVE OFFENSE
Winchester, Ill., Jan 5 Abner Lawson, aged 21 years, was arrested yesterday charged with committing an assault on Miss Rosa Stewart, aged 16 years, while taking her home from church Sunday night. Both parties live west of town. Lawson was given a preliminary hearing yesterday afternoon and bound over until circuit court meets.
