ORPHANS HOPE CAMP 7200 RIBBON
Modern Woodmen of America
Elco

Alexander County Illinois Genealogy Trails

Contributed by Jane Stevenson Hutton

This ribbon was in the possession of Jane's mother, Mary Stevenson.  She describes the ribbon like this: It is about 6 inches long and the ribbon is striped red, white and green with fringe on the bottom.  Starting at the top it has a metal scroll with a pin on the back.  In the center it has a white background that says, “ORPHANS’ HOPE, Camp No. 7200.”  A chain hangs from that and another white bar that says, “Clerk.”  Then there is more chain and a round emblem in the center with the Modern Woodmen of America logo on it.  Under that in gold lettering on the ribbon it says, “ORPHANS HOPE, CAMP NO 7200, M. W. OF A., ELCO, ILLINOIS.”  On the back it has the same info in white.  It looks like something that someone would have worn as part of a uniform.
If you have any information on this camp connected with the Modern Woodmen group, please let us know at this email.
