Luella (Powell) Jackson
Services for Mrs. Jackson, 85, of Barry, who died Thursday (Feb. 17, 1972) in a Barry nursing home, will be held Sunday at 2 pm in the Lock Funeral Home. The Rev. Robert Byler will officiate and burial will be in Benville Cemetery. Mrs. Jackson was born in Perry Nov. 1, 1886, a daughter of Albert and Viola (Taylor) Powell. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. She married Ollie Jackson. He preceded her . Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Lizzie) Potter of Barry; two sons, Eldon of Springfield and Floyd of Petersburg; a sister, Mrs. Leslie (Mary) Baker of Pittsfield; 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. Dorothy Jones
Mt. Sterling, Illinois: Dorothy Jones age 66 of Mt. Sterling passed away at 12:14 a.m. Monday, February 2, 2004 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
She was born June 13, 1937 in Pike County, Illinois the daughter of Ira and Viola Ballard Miller. She married Jesse Bud Jones, Jr. on October 30, 1956 in Mt. Sterling and he preceded her in death on December 19, 1994.
Mrs. Jones was a homemaker. She attended Pike County schools and graduated from Perry High School with the Class of 1955. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Benville Union Church in Brown County and was an active volunteer for the Brown County Food Basket. She was a true nature lover and enjoyed caring for animals and raising flowers.
Survivors include 2 sons James and Rick Jones both of Mt. Sterling. 2 sisters Margaret Huddleston of Perry, Illinois and Clara Mae Fowler and her husband Gene of Plymouth, Illinois also survive along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, 2 brothers and 2 half brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2004 in the Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling with Rev. Laura Simmons officiating.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Cremation rites will be accorded following the services and private graveside services will be held at a later date in the Benville Cemetery in Brown County.
The Hendricker Funeral Home in Mt. Sterling is in charge of the arrangements.



Robert Lee Jones
MOUNT STERLING - Robert Lee Jones, 59, of Mount Sterling, formerly of Pittsfield, died Saturday, May 13, 2006, at Heritage Manor in Mount Sterling.
He was born May 13, 1947, in Bluffs, the son of Clinton C. and Nancy Brown Jones.
Mr. Jones was a carpenter for Pete Capps for 30 years and worked at Dot Foods in Mount Sterling for the past 16 years. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors: daughter, Kelly (husband, Scott) Campbell of Pleasant Hill; son, Bobby (wife, Holly) Jones of Pleasant Hill; five grandchildren; two sisters, Rita (husband, James) Bollinger of Palm City, Fla., and Linda S. Flynn of Knoxville, Tenn.; and two brothers, Dale R. (wife, Wilma) Jones of Griggsville and Gene Jones of Milton. Services:2 p.m. Tuesday, Airsman-Hires Funeral Home, Pittsfield.
