The Quincy Daily Journal, Quincy, IL, September 8, 1917, pg:3
Mt Sterling, Ill.

Mrs G. W. Logsdon and son Howell, returned home thursday morning from Alsask (not very clear), Can, where they went several weeks ago to see if they could find any trace of her son, Bryan, who disappeared May 9 and nothing has been seen or heard of him since that time. It was stated that some of his horses had strayed away and he went to look for them and that was the last ever seen of him. It had been some time since the family had heard from him before they received a letter that he had disappeared. Mr Logsdon and another man were farming 540 acres of land at the time of his disappearance. They stated that the provincial police are on the lookout for him and will report if they are able to locate or find any trace of Mr Logsdon.
[ Note: We think this is Sue P. McPherson married to George Washington Lodgson and their sons, Lowell A. and George Bryant. Sara Hemp & Char Beyer.]
