Inscription This monument is in memory of those persons who were buried in the original lone tree cemetery that was located 1 1/2 miles NNE from this site. In the late 1950s, the gravestones were razed and the cemetery became farmland. In 1992, eight of the original grave markers were found and relocated to this cemetery. The following persons listed on both sides of this memorial were buried in the original site.

Cemetery Overviews
Jeanne Walsh writes: " In Lone Tree the photo of Rawley Rice, should be Rawley RICH. This is my gr gr grandfather. I visited the cemetery in the 1970's and have a photo of the monument before it was vandalized. Brothers Rawley, Henry, and Washington Rich came to Lone Tree, Bureau Co in the 1840's from Virginia. Also from Virginia at that time were Brown, Ammons, and Anderson families. (The Anderson cemetery on a farm has been completely demolished) A large family of Millers came in 1850 from Pennsylvania.. Elvy Ann Rich and Jonathon Miller married and are my gr grandparents. I'm sure all those descendants would appreciate the correction of Rice to RICH. Thank you very much.
