The Ladies Aid of Cottage and Putnam very pleasantly surprised Mrs. Samuel
Chesney at her home near Putnam Wednesday. The ladies went in the morning
and spent the day. After partaking of an elegant dinner they spent
the afternoon in having a general good time. Several vocal and piano
selections were given. There were 44 guests present.

Leonard Hunter and family are up and around again after a long sieze of the
grip.

Earl Reynolds was in Princeton Saturday.

Earl Reynolds has woodchoppers Friday all day.

Miss Esther Chesney is confined to her home on account of sickness.

Mr. and Mrs. West were surprised by a large number of friends Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. West and family are leaving for their new home in Minnesota.

Noble Kean of Chicago, was the guest of Miss Gladys Jardine over Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. Brokaw and Mr. and Mrs. Jardine attended the Pfanschmidt trial
in Princeton Thursday afternoon.

James Maupin had his teeth attended to Thursday afternoon by the dentist
at Tiskilwa.

Mr. Gustafson hauled a load of hay to Tiskilwa Saturday morning.

Edwin Jarwin was a caller at the home of Earl Reynolds Tuesday evening.

Earl Reynolds took dinner at the home of Wm. Chesney Sunday.

Frank Lidgard has rented the Robinson place, besides the one he is living
on. He is going to put Mr. Burcham of Toulon, on there to run the place
for him.

J. E. McNeally of Hector, Minn., and T. Duncan of Iowa, are the families
that are going to move onto the place vacated by Mr. West.

Henry Morris' little daughter Mary is very sick with pneumonia. They
have a trained nurse from Peoria taking care of her.

Mary and Helen Hunter and brother Lyle spent Sunday visiting with James Hannan
and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Brokaw and family spent Thursday evening at the home of
Mr. Piper

The contest between the young and the adults' class closed Sunday, the young
people being defeated. The supper will be held at the home of J. R. Jardine's
Fridandy evening, March 12.

Mrs. Fountain, who lives in Iowa now, her home being in Cottage before she
moved there, spent the children of the Sunday school class she formerly taught
at the Cottage church, some little gift books, something that they can remember
her by.

Mr. and Mrs. Harlan Fields were in Dover Saturday night and Sunday.

Mr. and Mrs. John Farley and family and Mr. Paul Gramley of Maple Park, autoed
down in the neighborhood Friday and returned Monday.

Raymond Jardine of Pittsburg, Pa., was at home for a few days.

Mr. and Mrs. Fred Allen of Winchester, guests of Hiram Allen's, were callers
at Byron Allen's Monday.

Samuel Bradshaw of Chambersburg, are guests of Frank Lidgard for a few weeks.

Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Jack and family of Tiskilwa, were Sunday guests at Leonard
Hunter's.

Miss Helen Hunter and brother Lyle were in Henry Sunday is visit Chester
Bidwell's. Mrs. Bidwell is very poorly.

Mrs. Wilson and Florence of Providence, were guests at Ross Jardine's Friday
night and Saturday.

Henry Smith of Bradford, entertained 25 members of the L. A. S. to an anniversary
dinner Wednesday.

Miss Gladys Jardine started Saturday evening for the Pan-American exposition.
She was accompainied by Miss Blanche Thompson, Miss Anna Soverbill
and mrs. Wilbur Soverhill.

Lee Brokaw and family were in Henry Saturday.

Ross Kirkpatrick was a Sunday guest at Ross Jardine's.

Callers on Pike's Peak Sunday evening were Mr. and Mrs. Will Piper, Mr.
Worthington and daughter Chloe, Mrs. Harry Halladay, Mr. and Mrs. Jardine
and two sons, and Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Chesney and family.

Mr. and Mrs. Edmund Jardine returned from their wedding tour Wednesday.

Mrs. R. Jardine and two sons, Harold and William were guests at Fred Dexter's
of Providence, Friday.

Miss Daisy Walthers and Miss Lewis Smith of Tiskilwa, were guests of Mary
and Helen Hunter this week. They took a trip to Lake Senachwine Monday.

The Ladies Aid met with Mrs. Rude Miller Friday. The next meeting will
be with Mrs. George Smith.

W. M. Piper and family were in Whitefield Sunday visiting Burt Piper's.

Miss Mary Shugart of Princeton is visiting at Stephen Merritt's this week.

Miss Clara Chesney is visiting at her sister's Mrs. Charles Hunt of Sparland.
