Private Floyd Eber Leavens Son of Mr. and Mrs. Gus Leavens, born at Thomson, Illinois October 13, 1894; inducted for service at Mt. Carroll, Illinois September 1917; served overseas with 132nd Infantry, 33rd Division for 12 months and participated in battlers on Verdun Sector and the Meuse-Argonne, where he was wounded.

Cook Frank A. Leavens Son of Norman and Maggie Leavens, born at Thomson, Illinois May 11, 1889; inducted for service at Camp Grant, Illinois in September 1917; served 11 months overseas with Co. I. 342nd Infantry, 8th Division.

Private Luther J. Leavens Son of Norman and Maggie Leavens, born at Thomson, Illinois July 18, 1894; inducted for service at Camp Grant, Illinois in September 1917. Served 7 months overseas with Co. D. 28th Infantry, participating in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive where he was wounded.






Private 1CL Norman D. Leavens Son of Norman and Maggie Leavens, of Thomson, Illinois. Born at Thomson, Ill. September 3, 1891. Volunteered March 1918 at Kelly Field, Texas. Serving in the 38th Balloon Co. and died in service with pneumonia at Arcadia, California October 27, 1918.

Private Paul Lewis Son of Mrs. Alice E. Lewis, born at Thomson, Illinois May 16, 1894; inducted for service at Mt. Carroll, Illinois September 19, 1917 and served 9 months with the 131st Infantry. Received wounds.

Private Ray B. Morgan Son of Mrs. Ida Morgan, born in York Twp., IL Jan. 22, 1895; volunteered for service Feb. 13, 1918 at Chicago, IL; served overseas with 6th Regiment Marines, 2nd Division; participating in the following engagements: Belleau Woods, Chateau Thierry and St. Mihiel where he was twice wounded and unfit for further service. Served overseas 8 months.

Private John Addison Melendy Son of A. D. and Delia Melendy, born at Thomson, Illinois in 1899; volunteered for service at Jefferson Barracks, Mo. February 5, 1918; served 6 months overseas with 267th Aero Squadron.

Private 1CL Fred Miller Son of Felix and Kate Miller, born at Mt. Carroll, Illinois; inducted for service at Mt. Carroll, Illinois September 19, 1917; served with Co. I. 342nd Infantry and A. R. D. 325 at Camp Logan, Texas.

Private Floyd Potter Son of Albert and Flora Potter, born at Thomson, Illinois in July 1889; inducted for service at Mt. Carroll, Illinois September 19, 1917; served 12 months overseas with the 33rd Division, participating in the Meuse-Argonne Offensive.

Private Lee Potter Son of Francis and Randolph Potter, born at Thomson, Illinois January 19, 1890; inducted for service at Thomson, Illinois May 25, 1918; served 13 months overseas with Co. A. 47th Infantry, 4th Division, participated in battles on Toul Sector, St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne. Served in Army of Occupation near Coblenz, Germany

Andrew A. Prins Son of Mr. And Mrs. Albert Prins, of Thomson, born at Warrfum, Holland November 25, 1889. Inducted into the service May 20, 1918 at Fulton, Illinois. Served in Co. I. 41st Infantry. Died February 18, 1919 at St. Paul, Minn., from injuries received in the military service.




Private Claude H. Rice Son of Mr. And Mrs. Levi Rice, born at Thomson, Illinois April 2, 1898; volunteered for service at Sterling, Illinois August 15, 1918; served overseas 10 months with the 7th Division.

2ndLieut. Victor Elwin Spencer Son of C. E. Spencer, Lockport, Illinois, born at Chicago, Illinois in November 1893; volunteered for service in 3rd Officers Training Corps at Camp Grant, Illinois January 5, 1918; served with Co. E. 344th Infantry and 388th Infantry and various replacement camps in the south.

Private Fred Jacob Sterenberg Son of Jacob F. and Stella S. Sterenberg, born at Morrison, Illinois September 1, 18954; inducted for service at Savanna, Illinois June 1, 1918 and served with Co. F. 46th Infantry, 9th Division.






Lieutenant Harry H. Strauch Son of Anthony and Katherine Strauch, born at Thomson, Illinois March 11, 1892. Volunteered May 20, 1917 for service with 11th Aero Squadron, Signal Reserve Corps. Landed in France September 16, 1917, killed in action September 18, 1918. Decorated for exceptional bravery, with Croix de Guerre by French Government.

Private Rollin L. Williams Son of Edwin and Mabel Williams, born at Thomson, Illinois September 20, 1895; inducted for service at Savanna, Illinois February 24, 1918; served 12 months overseas with Co. E. 32nd Engineers at Bordeaux, France.

Private Vernon Ralph Williams Son of Edwin and Mabel Williams, born at Thomson, Illinois June 22, 18u91; inducted for service at Savanna, Illinois May 24, 1918; served with Battery D. 44th Field Artillery at Camp Stanley, Texas.






Reg. Sgt. Major Glen F. Wilt Son of Clinton and Alberta Wilt, born at Thomson, Illinois April 29, 1897; volunteered for service at Omaha, Nebraska April 17, 1918; served with Hospital Corps, Infantry Replacement and Training Troops.
