Private Charles S. Schriner Son of John and Anna Schriner, born at Lanark, Illinois in 1888; inducted for service at Savanna, Illinois February 24, 1918; served overseas 12 months with Field Remount Squadron as a horseman.

Corporal Harry W. Schriner Son of Anna and John Schriner, Sr., born at Chadwick, Illinois June 24, 1891; volunteered for service at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., January 8th, 1917; served overseas 18 months with 2nd Division Supply Train, participating in battles at Chateau Thierry, Soissons, St. Mihiel, Mont Blanc, and Meuse-Argonne. Served in Army of Occupation at Neuwied, Germany. Received Personal Citation.

Sergeant Forest H. Shibley Born at Chadwick, Illinois December 5, 1895; entered service October 1, 1917, serving in the Veterinary Corps.

Private 1 CL C. H. Spahr Son of Samuel and Laura E. Spahr, born at Milford, Nebraska December 14, 1894; volunteered for service at Chicago, Illinois August 17, 1918, serving overseas nearly 10 months with Co. K. 11th Regiment Marines.

Private 1 CL William Edward Spahr Son of Samuel and Laura Spahr, born at Chadwick, Illinois September 16, 1892; inducted for service at Savanna, Illinois May 4, 1918; served overseas 10 months with Co. F. 34th Infantry, 7th Division, participating in battle on Puvenelle Sector.

Sergeant Orval J Spealman Son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Spealman, born at Chadwick, Illinois in August 1893; inducted for service at Savanna, Illinois May 27, 1918; served with 53rd Co., 5th Infantry Replacement Regiment 2nd Co. Central Machine, and at termination of war was attending Officers Training School.




Private George L. Spinka Son of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Spinka, born at Chadwick, Illinois September 7, 1891; inducted for service at Savanna, Illinois March 28, 1918; serving overseas 12 months with Headquarters Co. 356th Infantry, 89th Division and participated in battles on the Lucy Sector, St. Mihiel, Envizon Sector and Meuse-Argonne. Served in the Army of Occupation at Ehrang, Germany.

Ledven George St. Clair Son of George H. St. Clair, born at Chicago, Illinois September 14, 1893; volunteered for service at Des Moines, Iowa April 16, 1917, serving in the Fleet and Transport Service 1 year and 4 months in European waters.

Corporal Melvin C. Straub Son of Christ and Katherine Straub, born at Chadwick, Illinois November 1, 1896; volunteered for service at Rockford, Illinois May 29, 1918; served overseas 14 months with the Quartermaster Corps






Private 1 CL Donald W. Strauch Son of editor A. A. Strauch, born at Chadwick, Illinois September 1892; volunteered for service at St. Louis, Mo. October 10, 1917; served overseas 16 months with 2nd Photo Section, participating in St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne Offensives. Served in the Army of Occupation at Coblenz, Germany.

Private 1 CL Carl H. Wagner Son of George and Amelia Wagner, born at Chadwick, Illinois May 4, 1894; inducted for service at Savanna, Illinois February 22, 1918; served overseas 12 months with Searchlight Co. B. 56th Engineers, participating in the St. Mihiel and Meuse-Argonne Offensives.

Sergeant Jesse Wallis Son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallis, born at Dekalb, Illinois in 1895; volunteered for service at DeKalb, Illinois in July 1918, serving enlistment at Paris Island, South Carolina.







Sergeant John Edward Waters Son of James and Elizabeth Waters, born at Chadwick, Illinois September 14, 1918; volunteered for service at Chicago, Illinois May 31, 1918, serving overseas 14 months with Quartermaster Corps Detachment No. 1. (Note: This is the way it was written but obviously it is wrong; he could not have been born in September 1918, after he volunteered for service in May of the same year. I do not know the correct date.)

Private John Yoeckel, son of Carol and Mary Yoeckel, born at Chadwick, Illinois April 3, 1892. Inducted into the service May 25, 1918 at Savanna, Ill. Served in Co. E. 47th Infantry, 4th Division. Sailed overseas July 21, 1918. Died in hospital at Toul, France November 1, 1918.

Harold Sylvester Zewiske Son of Sylvester and Sadie Zewiske, born at Morrison, Illinois September 9, 1899; volunteered for service at Dubuque, Iowa November 8th, 1918 in the Student Army Training Corps. Served in the R. O. T. C.
