Fifty Years Plus
Mr. & Mrs. Jay M. Bent
Honoring the 54th Wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Jay M. Bent of Milledgeville, a dinner will be given in their honor in the home of Mr. and Mrs. A.B. Coyle in Milledgeville on Sunday. Guests will be present from Oregon, Sterling, Morrison and Amboy.
Mr. and Mrs. Bent were married Feb. 6, 1890, at Morrison by the Rev. Mr. Colegrove. After their marriage they went to housekeeping on a farm near Thomson, where they lived for one year, then moved to a farm near Morrison where they lived for six years before moving to Milledgeville. They lived there for two years, going to western Kansas for five years and later to Washington, D.C. for three years. They then returned to Milledgeville and purchased the home they now reside in. Both Mr. and Mrs. Bent are enjoying good health.
They are the parents of two children, Gifford Bent of Oregon, and Mrs. Harold Shonts of Sterling. Two grandchildren, S2/c Harold Shonts, who is serving in the Pacific and Grace Bent of Oregon.
