Jacob Getz and Mary Ripper were married on September 25, 1895 at Pekin, Ill. by the Rev. Mr. Kreitermeir. They are the parents of six sons and one daughter and have 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. All were present with their families at a family dinner at noon in observance of their anniversary and included Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Getz, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Getz, Doris, Florence, Marcia, and Leroy, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Law, Lloyd Jr., Merle, Donald, and Vernon, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Getz, Miriam and Evan, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Getz, Ralph, Wayne, Lionel and Evelyn, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Getz, Carl and Roger, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Glen Getz and Arnold, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Becker and family.
Open house was held in the afternoon for their many relatives and friends with 138 persons registering. All of Mr. Getz’s eight brothers and sisters were present; also Mrs. Getz’ sister and niece from Pekin. A lovely three-tiered cake decorated the center of the table surrounded by six good candles.
