Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Crofton, 118 West Locust Street, Lanark, formerly of Dixon, will celebrate their golden wedding anniversary Sunday, Nov. 9, with an open house at their home. Friends are invited to call between 2 and 4 o'clock and 6:30 to 8:30 o'clock.

Mr. and Mrs. Dan and Dora (Weidman0 Dauphin, 818 North Main Street, Savanna, will hold open house from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, August 17 in observance of their golden wedding anniversary. Dan Dauphin and Dora Weidman were married in Mount Carroll on August 20, 1902. They farmed in this vicinity for many years, but moved to Savanna in 1939. They are the parents of six children: Charles, George, and Mrs. Blanche Heisler, all of Savanna; Mrs. Forest (Freida) Adams of Hanover, Mrs. Vernon (Margaret) Thomasson and Mrs. Larry (Elizabeth) Ferrin (Perrin), both of Polo. (Alice Horner’s note: Dan Dauphin’s full name was Christian Daniel Dauphin)

Paul and Norma Meier will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with an open house on Sunday, October 12, at Parkview Home, Lower Level, Freeport. Friends and relatives are invited to join them from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. Paul Meier married Norma Bingner on October 3, 1953 at the Bethel United Brethren Church in Shannon. They have two daughters, Carmen (Keith) Brinkmeier of Pearl City, and Conni Ann (Don) Keckler of Lanark. They have four granddaughters; Kayla and Kara Brinkmeier, and Nicole and Michele Keckler, one grandson is deceased.

An open house celebration honoring Bob and Sue Michael for their 50th wedding anniversary will held on Sunday, October 10 at the Lanark Heritage Center, 106 s. Broad St., Lanark from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Robert Michael and Sue Reynolds were married on October 10, 1954 at the Polo Presbyterian Church. They are the parents of two children, Deb (Paul) Ritchey of Ashland, Ohio and Phil (Joyce) Michael of Lanark. The also have three grandchildren, Keturah and Josiah Michael and Daniel Ritchey.
