Grover Earl Bickelhaupt, known as Earl Bickelhaupt or G. E. Bickelhaupt was born January 25, 1885 in Mt. Carroll Township, Carroll County, Illinois and died July 1, 1962 in Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa. On October 2, 1911 in married Alma May Zinnel in Savanna, Carroll County, Illinois. Her parents were Frank Zinnel and Ida May Shore. Alma May Zinnel was born September 18, 1891 in Chadwick, Carroll County, Illinois and died March 16, 1988 in Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa.

Grover Earl Bickelhaupt's parents were George F. Valentine Bickelhaupt and Louisa M. (Lambert) Bickelhaupt. George F. Valentine Bickelhaupt was born March 14, 1852 in Franklin County, Pennsylvania and died September 20, 1933 in Mt. Carroll Township, Carroll County, Illinois. He married Louisa M. Lambert on July 10, 1877 in Carroll County. She was born January 10, 1855 in Carroll County and died March 15, 1944 in Clinton, Clinton County, Iowa. Both his parents are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Grover Earl Bickelhaupt and Alma May Zinnel Bickelhaupt are both buried in the Rose of Sharon Mausoleum at the Clinton Memorial Park, Clinton, Iowa.

Ernie Petty's full name was Ernest J. Petty; he was born June 16, 1886 in Carroll County, Illinois and he died in 1960. On October 18, 1951 he married Esther Smith in Mt. Carroll, Carroll County, Illinois. Her parents were John Franklin Smith and Gertrude (Hartman) Smith. Esther Smith was born March 5, 1900 in Carroll County, Illinois and died June 19, 1986 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Both Ernie Petty and Esther Smith Petty are buried in Oak Hill Cemetery, Mt. Carroll, Illinois. Ernie Petty's parents were James H. Petty and Susan H. (Smith) Petty. James H. Petty was born July 29, 1841 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and died March 1, 1930 in Mt. Carroll. He married Susan H. Smith on May 2, 1871. She was the daughter of Joseph Smith and Elizabeth (Boyer) Smith; she was born December 24, 1850 in Mt.Carroll and died February 8, 1924 in Mt. Carroll, Illinois.
