
On February 25, 1924, he was married to Helen Wild at
Rockford, Illinois. Her birth date is June 22, 1900; her
parents (both deceased) were William G. and Anna D.
Wild. She was born at Lanark, Illinois.
Both attended Lanark high school. Dwight is a retired
farmer. He has served as Town Clerk of Salem Township,
as a trustee of the County School Board, as a director of
the Chadwick Fire Protection District, and as director and
Treasurer of the Carroll Service Company for 16 years. He
is interested in woodworking and metal working, in
mechanics, and flower gardening.
Helen is a homemaker, and has worked as a typesetter.
She also does oil painting.
A son, William H. Spealman, of Lincoln, Nebraska, is a
Personnel Specialist with the Soil Conservation Service of
the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
