Jacob and Jane Zillhart arrived in Carroll County from Maryland in 1846 with their daughter Sarah and son-in-law Henry Zuck. Jacob had been a soldier in the War of 1812. In the 1850 census, Jacob and Jane have two children living with them in Freedom Township--John aged 18 and Jacob C aged 14. Jacob says he is a shoemaker. [This son Jacob C is also buried at Arnolds Grove. Headstone included.]
