Henry and Sarah Zuck married in Washington County, MD, September 9, 1838, and John, their eldest child, was born in Maryland. The family came to Illinois by wagon in 1844, first to Ogle County and then to Freedom Township, Carroll County in 1846. With them was their son John H[enry] and Sarah's parents, Jacob and Jane Zillhart. Their only daughter Mary Jane Zuck Davis [Christopher] was born May 4, 1850 in Freedom Township. From 1852 to 1898 they owned and cultivated some 200 acres in Salem Township. Their son John Henry married Eveline Becker. - 1913 History of Carroll County
