Bert and Edna (Hoy) Sturtevant and their daughter Fern Sturtevant

(Note from Alice Horner) - The date of Edna's death was not carved on her tombstone. Looking through her probate information on the Carroll County Courthouse website, her estate paid $25 to the Henry Scharman Funeral Home in Shannon for this task to be done, but apparently they didn't do it. There was probably snow on the ground when they buried her, but you'd think they'd keep an abeyance file of tombstones to do when the snow melted. Apparently not; according to my funeral director friend, this happens all the time.
