Colehour Family
Contributed by Bill Colehour

March of 1863 Hiram Colehour went to Nashville, Tennessee to retrieve his brother David's body after David's death from typhoid fever in the Civil War and brought it back to Mt. Carroll.

Hiram also got to visit his brother James Colehour at that time, who was also in the hospital at Nashville with typhoid fever, but James was in and out of consciousness.

Hiram himself died less than two weeks later from typhoid fever, presumably contacted while he was in Nashville.

Fortunately James A. Colehour survived the civil war. He is shown here (on the right) probably in Carroll County, some many years later.
