Shannon, April 11, - Mr. and Mrs. John Kraker have returned to Shannon from Freeport.

The children of Mrs. Joseph Cowley were called here early in the week, in consequence of the serious illness of the lady.

Several from here attended the Masonic gathering at Freeport last week. Mr. Schauer transacted business in Freeport.

There was a large congregation present at the Catholic Church last Saturday where special Easter services were held . There were Easter programs rendered at several of the evangelical churches.

The news of the death of William D. Ford a former resident of Bolton was received here a few days ago.

Miss Jessie Jannsen of Freeport is the new trimmer at the Shelley millinery store.

The village election takes place next Tuesday . There will be two tickets in the field , one of them labeled Republican as follows: For president , George W. Whitmore; trustees J.H. Pruutzman, Jefferson Barnes and Joseph Cheeseman; clerk C,N. Good; magistrate , Daniel Kreamer . The other ticket , called Petition contains the following names: President George W. Sherwood; trustees , Fred Nesemeiit , John Roche and W. N. Holmes; clerk William Paynes; magistrate , A. Diehl.

Mr. and Mrs Edward Burt were at Freeport last Thursday.

Arthur Bolton of West Virginia who was called to Bolton by the illness of his mother, Mrs. F. D. Bolton called on friends here.

There was a good attendance at the dance last Tuesday night.
