The Colehour family has been involved with the operation of Coleman-Colehour Grain Elecvator south of the city for generations. Hiram himself was a blacksmith. The home, built in 1860, is located at 316 S. Main St., in Mt. Carroll. The information presented below was compiled and contributed by a descendant of this family -

1. Hiram Supplee Colehour, son of Henry Colehower and Hannah Richards, was born in Montgomery Co, PA 26 February 1832. Hiram died 6 May 1863 in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, at 31 years of age. His body was interred in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, Oak Hill Cemetery.

He married Anna Maria Green in Chester Co, PA, circa 1852. Anna was born in Franklin Co, PA 21 May 1826. Anna was the daughter of Sidwell Green and Hannah Williams. She married Benjamin Schamel in Carroll Co, IL, 17 September 1867. Anna died 7 May 1906 in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, at 79 years of age. Her body was interred in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, Oak Hill Cemetery.

Anna was one of the pioneer citizens of Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL. She was a devout christian and woman who was respected and beloved by all who knew her. She was the mother of six children, three preceding her in death. Her first marriage was to Hiram Colehower, who predeceased her in 1863. Anna married as her second husband Benjamin Schamel on 17 September 1867. They had a daughter Kitty Schamel about 1871, who died in an unfortunate accident with a horse drawn wagon on 21 October 1891.

Anna was listed as age 29 in the 1860 census for Mt. Carroll living with her husband and children. She was listed as Annie, age 41, in the 1870 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with her second husband and their children. Anna was found in the 1880 census for Mt. Carroll, IL living with her daughter Kitty Schamel and son Charles Colehour from her first marriage. She was shown as age 46 and running a boarding house. She was next found in the 1900 census for the same location living with her son, Harvey Colehour, from her first marriage. She was listed as age 71, mother of 6 children, of which three were still living.

Anna was the fifth and last child of Sidwell and Hannah (Williams) Green. Her siblings were Daniel W., Mary, Abel and Sidwell. Her father married secondly to Rebecca Ford and they had a daughter, Phebe. Anna's grandparents were Abel and Prudence (Sidwell) Green. Her great grandparents were Joseph and Rachel (Medcalf) Sidwell; and Abel and Jane (Williamson) Green. Her great great grandparents were Thomas and Sarah (-) Green; John and Sarah (Smedley) Williamson. Her great great great grandparents were Daniel and Mary (Smith) Williamson; George and Sarah (Kitchin) Smedley)

Hiram attended school in Montgomery County, PA at the Union School, were he was listed as a pupil in 1836. He moved to Joliet, IL and Chicago, IL around 1853 and then to Mt. Carroll, IL in 1854 when the rest of his parents family arrived in Illinois. He lived on the Colehour farm in Mt Carroll at first and later moved to town and worked as a blacksmith until he died. He lived at 316 Main Street in Mt. Carroll which is now on the historical register for that town. Hiram was age 29 in the 1860 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL listed as a blacksmith with $3800 of real estate and $800 of personal property. He was listed with his wife and three children.

In March of 1863 Hiram went to Nashville, TN to retrieve his brother David's body after David's death from typhoid fever in the Civil War and brought it back to Mt. Carroll. He also got to visit his brother James at that time, who was in the hospital at Nashville with typhoid fever, but James was in and out of consciousness. Hiram died less than two weeks later from typhoid fever, presumably contacted in Nashville.

Hiram Supplee Colehour and Anna Maria Green had the following children:

2 i. Lewis Colehour was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL. Lewis died in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL. His body was interred in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, Oak Hill Cemetery. Lewis died in infancy.

3 ii. Anna Martha [Mattie] Colehour was born in IL 24 April 1853. Anna died circa 1888 in Evansville, Vanderburgh Co, IN. She married Willis Charles in Carroll Co, IL, 20 September 1876. Willis was born in IL circa 1848. Willis was listed as age 32 in the 1880 census for Mt. Vernon, Posey Co, IN living with his wife and working as a bookstore proprietor. She was listed as Martha in the 1860 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL. She was listed as age 7, living with her parents. She was listed as Mattie, age 17, in the 1870 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with her mother and step-father. Her father died when she was about ten years old. She was listed as age 27 in the 1880 census for Mt. Vernon, Posey Co, IN living with her husband. Anna and Willis Charles did not have any children together.

Second Generation

4. Harvey Fisher Colehour was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 25 July 1856. Harvey died 1 January 1909 in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, at 52 years of age. His body was interred in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, Oak Hill Cemetery. He married Estella A. Sisler in Carroll Co, IL, 5 September 1877. Estella was born in Woodland, Carroll Co, IL circa 1859. Estella was the daughter of Franklin Sisler and Matilda Heagy. Estella was listed as age seven months in the 1860 census for Woodland, Carroll Co, IL living with her parents. She was listed as age ten in the 1870 census for Mount Carroll, Carroll Co, IL living with her parents. She was found with her husband in the 1880 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL as age 20, born in IL. Her paternal grandparents were John Sisler and Mary Roulette. Her great grandparents were Michael Sisler and Rachel Pence. Harvey was listed as age four in the 1860 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL living with his parents. He was listed as age 14 in the 1870 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with his mother and step-father. His father died when he was about six years old. He was found in the 1880 census for Mt. Carroll living with his wife and two children. He was shown as age 23 and worked as a laborer in an egg packing plant. He was next found in the 1900 census for the same location, living at his mothers house. He was listed as 43 years of age and worked as a painter.

It is thought that Harvey had a second wife, but her name is not known.

Harvey Fisher Colehour and Estella A. Sisler had the following children:

7 i. Bessie L.3 Colehour was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL circa 1878. Bessie was found with her family in the 1880 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL as age 2. No other information known.

8 ii. Luvie E. Colehour was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL September 1879. Luvie was found with her family in the 1880 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL. No other information known.

5. Ida May2 Colehour (Hiram Supplee1) was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 1 January 1859. Ida died 7 February 1918 in Mountain Grove, Wright Co, MO, at 59 years of age. Her body was interred 9 February 1918 in Mountain Grove, Wright Co, MO, Mountain Grove Cemetery.

She married George Amy Stanton in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, 20 September 1876. George was born in Delaware Co, NY 8 March 1850. George was the son of Daniel Cookingham Stanton and Amelia Eliza Van Steenburg. George died 29 December 1919 in Bryant, Douglas Co, MO, at 69 years of age. His body was interred 31 December 1919 in Mountain Grove, Wright Co, MO.

George was the third of eight children born to Daniel and Amelia (Van Steenburg) Stanton. George was an eighth generation descendant of the immigrant, Thomas Stanton, who came from England to Connecticut in 1635. The line of descent was Thomas, John, John, Joseph, Nathan, Nathan and Daniel. George's father was from New York state but moved the family to a farm in Humboldt, Humboldt Co, IA. George was raised as a poor boy with few early educational advantages. When five years old his parents moved to Kankakee Co, IL where he lived until manhood. Through the influence of a family for whom he worked in 1869-70, he was converted 20 August 1870, and joined the Methodist Episcopal church. He immediately started a neighborhood prayer meeting and before spring his mother, three sisters, a brother and several friends were converted. In the spring of 1871 he attended school in Kankakee City and in the spring of 1872 entered the Theological School at Evanston, IL to prepare for the ministry. In the winter of 1874-5he was forced to give up his studies on account of poor health. During his vacation and after he left school, he did considerable canvassing with Bible Histories in Illinois and Canada.

In the fall of 1876 while he was engaged in his canvassing in Carroll Co, IL he was married to Ida May Colehour. He then made his home in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL until 1882 when he moved to Spirit Lake, Dickinson Co, IA. There he was in real estate and nursery business for a time and then in the furniture and musical instrument business. Business reverses and disappointments had a bad effect upon his religion and from 1886 to 1889 he had no church relations. In 1888 he returned to Illinois, first to Rockford and then to Mt. Carroll, where he engaged in the music business. Sometime after 1900 he moved his family to Mountain Grove, Wright Co, MO where he had purchased a peach orchard. There were moves to Fredonia, KS, back to Mountain Grove, then Houston, TX, back to Fredonia and back to Mountain Grove in 1911. George was always a strictly temperate man, never having used tobacco or alcohol. He operated a music store in each location, travelling out into the country repairing organs and trading new forold organs, produce or any other needs. He always had a good team of horses and a milk cow or two. Never had much money but was a good provider. He died at the home of his son Edwin Stanton. Funeral services were held at the First M.E. Church by the pastor Rev. W. G. Rector on 31 December 1919 and he was buried at the new cemetery at Mountain Grove. His death certificate stated that he was 69 years 9 months and 21 days old at death. Cause of death was softening of the brain with paralysis. He was listed as a merchant that was born in NY. Ed Stanton gave the information on the certificate.

George was listed as age 30 in the 1880 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL. He was living with his wife, daughter and his father. He was listed as age 50 in the 1900 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL along with his wife and eight children. He was shown as a music dealer, could read and write and owned his own home with a mortgage.

Ida was listed as age two in the 1860 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, living with her parents. She was listed as age 11 in the 1870 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with her mother and step-father. Her father died when she was about four years old. She was listed as age 21 in the 1880 census for Mt. Carroll, living with her husband and one daughter. She was listed with her husband and eight children in the 1900 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL as age 41, married for 23 years and the mother of eight children, all of them still living.

Ida accompanied her husband and family on their frequent moves between Iowa, Illinois, Kansas, Texas and ultimately Missouri. Ida's death certificate stated that she died of pneumonia due to complications of influenza. She was 59 years, 1 month and 6 days old at her death. The informant was her daughter, Nora Stanton Glenn of Mountain Grove, Wright Co, MO.

Ida May Colehour and George Amy Stanton had the following children:

+ 10 ii. Mabel Hannah Stanton was born 8 May 1881.

+ 12 iv. Nora Alelia Stanton was born 20 July 1887.

+ 13 v. Edwin Freeman Stanton was born 12 September 1890.

14 vi. Paul Romain Stanton was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 8 June 1892. Paul died March 1981 in Macomb, McDonough Co, IL, at 88 years of age. He married twice. He married Bernice Ring. He married May Olive Andrews in Springfield, Greene Co, MO, 28 August 1913. (Divorced) May was born in MO circa 1891. She was listed as May O. in the 1920 census living at Cass Twp, Douglas Co, MO with her husband. She was shown as age 28 and was a cook. She is possibly the sister of Meroe Andrews that married Edwin Freeman Stanton, the brother of Paul Stanton. Paul was listed as age seven in the 1900 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with his parents. He was listed as age 27 in the 1920 census living at Cass Twp, Douglas Co, MO with his first wife. He was a farmer. Paul did not have any children by either of his two wives.

16 viii. George Colehour Stanton was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 22 March 1897. George died 2 August 1916 in Mountain Grove, Wright Co, MO, at 19 years of age. His body was interred 5 August 1916 in Mountain Grove, Wright Co, MO, Mountain Grove Cemetery. George was listed as age three in the 1900 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with his parents. George died at age 19 of a ruptured appendix. His funeral notice from Mountain Grove, MO: "Funeral services will be conducted at the First Methodist church by the Rev. E. H. Sapp on Saturday afternoon, August 5th, 1916, at three o'clock. Interment at the new cemetery. Friends of the family are invited to attend."

6. Charles Hiram2 Colehour (Hiram Supplee1) was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 11 June 1863. Charles died 28 May 1934 in Springville, Linn Co, IA, at 70 years of age. His body was interred in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, Oak Hill Cemetery. He married Margaret Ellen LaBarge in Clinton Co, IA, 12 May 1891. Margaret was born in Charlotte, Linn Co, IA 28 April 1872. Margaret was the daughter of Moses LaBarge and Ann Eliza Banks. Margaret died 29 November 1954 in Mt. Vernon, Linn Co, IA, at 82 years of age. Her body was interred in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, Oak Hill Cemetery. Margaret was found in the 1900 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL living with her husband and daughter. She was listed as the mother of one child, with one still living. This was incorrect since she had already lost three children in infancy. Her father was born in Canada and her mother in Ireland. She was listed as age 37 in the 1910 census for Brown Twp, Linn Co, IA living with her husband and two children. She was listed as Marguerite, age 47, in the 1920 census for Linn Co, IA. Charles was born about a month after his father died. He was listed as Charley, age seven, in the 1870 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with his mother and his step-father. He was found living with his mother in the 1880 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL. Charles was next found in the 1900 census for Mt. Carroll living with his wife and daughter. His occupation was listed as painter and he owned his own home. He was enumerated in the house next to his mother and brother. He was listed as age 46 in the 1910 census for Brown Twp, Linn Co, IA living with his wife and two children. He was shown as an auctioner for a cigar factory. He was noted as a rural taxpayer in Springville, Linn Co, IA in 1914. He was found in the 1920 census for Linn Co, IA listed as age 56 and in the grain sales business. Charles attended the public schools in Mt. Carroll. He was a natural musician and soon became proficient on piano, organ, violin and cornet and for years played in the band and orchestra. He entered the music store of Stanton & Charles, as demonstrator and salesman and continued with them for many years. Later he organized a band and orchestra which he took to Spirit Lake, Iowa during the resort season. Being a fluent talker he took up mercantile auctioneering and for a number of years followed the business selling mercantile stocks at auction in Illinois, Wisconsin and Iowa. He learned the painter's trade and became an expert artist with the brush. He worked at this trade in the summer and in the winter followed public sale auctioneering, he having become one of the foremost and best public sale criers in the country, his services being in almost constant demand and the satisfaction given by him being most excellent.

Charles Hiram Colehour and Margaret Ellen LaBarge had the following children:

17 i. Louis Colehour was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 4 July 1892. Louis died 27 August 1893 in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, at 1 year of age. His body was interred in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, Oak Hill Cemetery.

18 ii. Harold Colehour was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 5 June 1894. Harold died 13 November 1894 in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, at less than one year of age. His body was interred in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, Oak Hill Cemetery.

19 iii. Ruth Colehour was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 16 October 1896. Ruth died January 1897 in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, at less than one year of age. Her body was interred in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, Oak Hill Cemetery.

Third Generation

9. Edith May Stanton (Ida May Colehour, Hiram Supplee1) was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 8 October 1878. Edith died 16 May 1969 in Salem, Marion Co, OR, at 90 years of age. Her body was interred 19 May 1969 in Corvallis, Benton Co, OR, Crystal Lake Cemetery.

She married Ramon Albert Pulley in Worthington, Nobles Co, MN, 18 September 1899. Ramon was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 21 December 1876. Ramon was the son of George A. Pulley and Katherine McLaughlin. Ramon died 22 February 1943 in Salem, Marion Co, OR, at 66 years of age. His body was interred 25 February 1943 in Corvallis, Benton Co, OR, Crystal Lake Cemetery.

Raymond was listed as age three in the 1880 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL living with his parents. He was listed as Raymon in the 1900 census for LeSueur Co, MN shown as age 22 and living with his wife. He was shown as a laundryman and was renting his home. Ramon and his wife were both residents of Page Co, IA at the time of their marriage in 1899. He was listed as age 43 in the 1920 census for Corvallis, Benton Co, OR living with his wife and five daughters at 1505 A Street South. He was working as a shoemaker.

From an obituary in a Corvallis, Oregon newspaper: "Raymond Albert Pulley passed away last night at his home after a long illness. Born at Mt. Carol, Illinois on December 21, 1876, he lived there until he was nine years old and then moved to Shenandoah, Iowa, where he was in the laundry business. He came to Corvallis in 1911 and started the first electric shoe repair shop in the town. He married Edith May Stanton in 1899 in Worthington, Minnesota. He was a member of Corvallis Lodge 1413, BPOE, and a member of the First Baptist Church. Mr. Pulley is survived by his wife and six daughters Phyllis Harrigan of San Francisco, California; Metta Kyle, Medford; Mabel Gibson, now in the WAACs; Catherine Morrison of Sacramento, California; Georgia Ellison, Eugene; Margaret Howard, Portland. Also 10 grandchildren and one great grandson. Funeral services will be held on Thursday morning at 10 o'clock at the Keeney funeral home. Rev. Hart of the First Baptist church will officiate."

Edith was listed as age two in the 1880 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL. She was listed twice in the 1900 census first as age 21 living at Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL with her parents and was also found in Le Sueur Co, MN living with her husband, married for one year with no children. Edith and her husband were residents of Page Co, IA at the time of their marriage in 1899 according to their marriage certificate. She was listed as age 42 in the 1920 census for Corvallis, Benton Co, OR living with her husband and five daughters at 1505 A Street South. She was employed as a dressmaker.

From an obituary in a Corvallis, OR newspaper: "Edith May Pulley, 91, a resident of Corvallis for many years and for the past five years of Salem, died in Salem Sunday evening. The oldest of eight children of George Amy and Ida May Colehour Stanton, she was born Oct. 8, 1877, at Mt. Carroll, Ill. She was married to Ramon A. Pulley on Sept. 18, 1899, at Worthington, Minn. The couple made their home in Le Sueur, Minn.; Red Oak, Iowa; Ft. Collins, Colo.; and Cody, Wyo. prior to coming to Corvallis in 1911. For many years Mrs. Pulley was a dressmaker and later a furrier in this area. Mr. Pulley died Feb. 22, 1943. In 1963 she moved to Salem to make her home at the Willamette Lutheran Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Corvallis and Salem. She is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Phyllis Herigan, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Metta Kyle, Palos Verdes, Calif., Mrs. D. W. (Mabel) Hutchens, Tarpon Springs, Fla., Mrs. Catherine Crow, Los Altos, Calif., Mrs. C. P. (Georgia) Ellison, Corvallis, and Mrs. C. B. (Margaret) Howard, Portland; 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and three great great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Nora Glenn, Corvallis; three brothers, Edwin and Chester Stanton of Chipley, Fla., and Paul Stanton of Colchester, Ill. and many nieces and nephews, including Irene Stanbrough of Corvallis. Funeral services will be held at the First Baptist Church, NM Ninth and Monroe, Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Dr. John B. Houser officiating. Burial will be in the Crystal Lake Cemetery. McHenry Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements."

Edith May Stanton and Ramon Albert Pulley had the following children:

25 iii. Mabel Valetta Pulley was born in Red Oak, Montgomery Co, IA 23 November 1903. Mabel died November 1978 at 74 years of age. She married three times. She married Milton McGuire. Milton was born 23 December 1892. Milton died 11 August 1933 at 40 years of age. She married D. W. Hutchens. D. was born 14 October 1900. She married Douglas Gibeson after 1933. (Divorced). Mable was listed as age 16 in the 1920 census for Corvallis, Benton Co, OR living with her parents at 1505 A Street South. She was married three times but it has not been learned about any children.

26 iv. Ida Catherine Pulley was born in Cody, Park Co, WY 28 June 1907. Ida died 6 April 1996 in Corvallis, Benton Co, OR, at 88 years of age. She married twice. She married Ed Morrison 25 March 1934. (Divorced) She married Sheldon B. Crow After 1935. Sheldon died 25 February 1962. Catherine was listed as age 12 in the 1920 census for Corvallis, Benton Co, OR living with her parents at 1505 A Street South.

+ 28 vi. Margaret Irene Pulley was born 28 January 1915.

10. Mabel Hannah Stanton (Ida May Colehour, Hiram Supplee) was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 8 May 1881. Mabel died 30 July 1943 in Stockton, Jo Daviess Co, IL, at 62 years of age.

She married Charles P. Ray in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL, 8 May 1901. Charles was born in IL circa 1877. Charles was the son of George W. Ray and Margaret H. Charles died 29 November 1954 in Stockton, Jo Daviess Co, IL, at 77 years of age.

He was probably the Charles F. Ray enumerated as age three in the 1880 census for Berreman, Jo Daviess Co, IL living with his parents. Charles was listed as age 32 in the 1910 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL living with his wife and son. He was shown as a salesman for a lumber company. His parents were shown as being born in OH. He was listed as age 42 in the 1920 census for Wards Grove, Jo Daviess Co, IL, working as a farmer.

Mabel was listed as age 19 in the 1900 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with her parents. She was listed as age 28 in the 1910 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL living with her husband and son. She was shown as married for nine years and the mother of one child. She was listed as age 38 in the 1920 census for Wards Grove, Jo Daviess Co, IL living with her husband and son.

Mabel Hannah Stanton and Charles P. Ray had the following child:

29 i. Harold Judson Ray was born in IL 1 May 1902. Harold died February 1987 in Stockton, Jo Daviess Co, IL, at 84 years of age. He married Verda Beale 26 May 1926. Harold was listed as age eight in the 1910 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL living with his parents. He was listed as age 17 in the 1920 census for Wards Grove, Jo Daviess Co, IL living with his parents.

11. Charles Raymond Stanton (Ida May Colehour, Hiram Supplee) was born in Spirit Lake, Dickinson Co, IA 3 April 1884. Charles died 5 July 1941 in Bend, Deschutes Co, OR, at 57 years of age. He married three times. He married Rosa Fuerst in Mountain Grove, Wright Co, MO. (Later divorced) He married Flossie Warman in Corvallis, Benton Co, OR. (Later divorced.) Flossie was born in IL circa 1896. Flossie was listed as age 23 in the 1920 census living on Bond Street in Bend City, Deschutes Co, OR with her husband and two children. She married twice. She married Arthur B. Glenn in Mountain Grove, Wright Co, MO, 26 November 1908. She married George K. Stanbrough in Vancouver, Clark Co, WA, 1 July 1942. (Divorced 3 August 1943.) Nora was listed as age 12 in the 1900 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with her parents. She was the informant on the death certificate of her mother on 7 February 1918 as a resident of Mountain Grove, Wright Co, MO. She was listed in the 1920 census for Corvallis, Benton Co, OR as age 32 living with her daughter as boarders with Mary Henderson. She was working as a cashier. Her death information is from the SSDI where she was listed with the surname of Glenn.

Meroe died September 1978 in Chipley, Washington Co, FL, at 85 years of age. Meroe was listed as age 26 in the 1920 census for Miller Twp, Douglas Co, MO living with her husband, two sons and her father. Her birth and death dates are from the Social Security Death Index. Edwin was listed as age nine in the 1900 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with his parents. Mary was born in MO circa 1896. Mary was the daughter of Wade H. Belcher and Susan C.. Mary was listed as age 23 in the 1920 census living at Mt. Grove Twp, Wright Co, MO with her husband in the household of her father. She was working as a telephone operator at that time. He married Gussie Register in Chipley, Washington Co, FL, December 1960. Chester was listed as age five in the 1900 census for Salem Twp, Carroll Co, IL living with his parents. He was listed as age 25 in the 1920 census living at Mt. Grove Twp, Wright Co, MO with his first wife in the household of her father. He was doing carpentry work at that time. Chester was married four times but probably only had children with one wife.

20. Edith Avilda Colehour (Charles Hiram, Hiram Supplee) was born in Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL 11 January 1900. Edith died 14 October 1987 in Cedar Rapids, Linn Co, IA, at 87 years of age. Her body was interred 18 October 1987 in Cedar Rapids, Linn Co, IA, Cedar Memorial Cemetery. She married George Albert Maxfield in Springville, Linn Co, IA, 2 July 1920. Married by Rev. Bailey at the home of Edith's parents. George was born in Lyndon, Whiteside Co, IL 5 September 1898. George was the son of Charles Fremont Maxfield and Eva Anna Aylesworth. George died 10 January 1968 in Cedar Rapids, Linn Co, IA, at 69 years of age. His body was interred in Cedar Rapids, Linn Co, IA, Cedar Memorial Cemetery. George moved from Illinois to Iowa with his parents at about age 12. After graduating from Marion High School he farmed and later operated his own trucking business, hauling coal, milk, etc. He is best remembered for his ponies and having given the town kids rides on his wagon or buggy with his teams. In his later years he was employed by the Eagles Club in Cedar Rapids, IA. Around 1930 he moved his family from the farm near Alburnett, IA to Robins, IA, renting a home at 200 South 2nd Street. About 1932 they moved to 145 E. Main Street, then in 1941 purchased the home at 100 E. Main. They bought the home at 300 S. 2nd Street in 1942. Stories were told of when George was hauling milk in the early mornings of snowy days, men from town would jump on his wagon and shovel snow drifts as they went, making their purchases, and then shoveling their way back home again.

Edith was listed as age 5/12 in the 1900 census for Mt. Carroll, Carroll Co, IL. She was listed as age ten in the 1910 census for Brown Twp, Linn Co, IA living with her parents. She was listed as age 20 in the 1920 census for Linn Co, IA. She resided in Robins, Iowa from 1930 until her death. She was a graduate of Springville High School in 1918. Edith was a member of the Robins Church of the Brethren and a member of the Art Circle. Edith lived at the family home at 300 South 2nd Street in Robins, sharing it at her death with her grandson, Michael. They had one son, Charles Albert Maxfield was born 21 January 1925.
