Henry Hunter (21 Feb 1804- 12 August 1886) and Mary Hughes (1806-1883) are both buried at South Elkhorn Cemetery.
They had the following children: (Samuel, Mary and Allen were born in IL - the rest in IN)

2. Martha Jane Hunter (1826-1918) (Married Newell Bristor; Madison Scott)

3. Mary Hunter (1827-??)

4. George Washington Hunter (1830-??) Married Adeline Wells 23 Apr 1857 OMR/124 Carroll Co)

5. John H. Hunter (1829-1869) Married Emily Alice Wells 27 Nov 1856-OMR 0122 Carroll Co)

John H. Hunter and Emily Wells had the following Children:

A. Henry Frederick Hunter (1858-1924)

B. John Wells Hunter (1865-1954) (First wife unknown, Barbara Schmitt)

C. Nellie Hunter (Married W. C. Sloan)

D. Emma Hunter (Married H. B. Hendrick)

6. Henry Clay Hunter (1834-Oct. 23, 1912) Married Angeline Dyer 1 Jul 1858 OMR/127 Carroll Co)

7. William Hughes Hunter (1836-1901) (Married Sarah Druseilla Scotthorn Spenser; Anna A. Stone)

8. James P. Hunter(1838-1927)

9. Samual Hunter (1840 -??)

10. Allen Hickman Hunter (06 July 1843-07 May 1895) married Elizabeth Gorman 1877. They have two daughters - Ella and Mattie. Allen is buried at South Elkhorn Cemetery. See his Obituary
