Two children are not show: Clarence Downing, who was stillborn in 1918 and Vivian Downing (1920-2002).
An addition with a large hay mow was built on the south side of the barn sometime during the 1920s. The farm was owned by Preston and Bessie (Hartman) Downing from 1954 - 2001. From the late 1970s on, Preston (called Prepp) Downing raised bulls and called his farm Bull Run. His sister, Vivian Downing Luettig, painted the large mural affixed to the barn door sometime in the 1980s, and the barn was a landmark to drivers on Highway 52/64.
