LANARK MAN WAS 95 YEARS OLD YESTERDAY

Lanark's oldest citizen, William H. Hess, Sunday celebrated his 95th birthday.

In spite of his age, Hess is active, walking dowtown every day as well as keeping walks in front of his home and in front of his buildings downtown free of snow and ice. He attributes his age and health to "remaining right side up and active."

Hess reaffirmed his faith in the younger generation saying "all this talk about youngsters going to the dogs is just a lot of poppycock."
