FLORENCE TEETS
Lone Wolf World Traveler

The mid century American Woman whizzes around the world at jet-propelled speeds, making enemies as she goes, says Florence Teets, a young but experienced globe-trotter.

Blonde, pink-cheeked and filled with an insatiable zest for seeing the world, Florence has spent most of her time in transit since she left Carroll Co Ill. where her father was a tour-minded harness maker.

Florence has written a book "She's Going Abroad", just published, in which she sets down everything she thinks a woman should know to make her global excrusions a success. In it she quotes a European newspaperman as follows.

"The chief trouble with American Women is that they seem to know it all. They talk, talk, talk, too loud and too often, of things they know nothing about."

Since a million Americans are expected to set out on overseas trips this summer, Florence believes the ladies need some coaching. If the girls learn how to behave properly, she says there's no reason why they shouldn't travel alone to any corner of the earth, and have a wonderful time.

Florence who could be considered wolf bait in any country has covered most of Europe, the Middle East, Latin and South America, in the last few years, traveling without companion or chaperon, and never yet has run up against a situation she couldn't handle.

She advises - To behave means to be friendly and kind, to be interested in others, to respect local customs and beliefs, to be correctly dressed and well groomed.
