MRS. ANTONE DEAN
- Funeral services for Mrs. Antone Dean of Shannon, were conducted Friday at 2 p.m. in the Frank Funeral Home at Lanark. The Rev. Merle Hawbecker, Lanark, and Rev. Russell McInnis, pastor of the Cherry Grove Church of the Brethren, officiated. Organist was Mrs. Wayne Derrer. Flower attendants were Mrs. Vernon Henry and Mrs. Earl Sturtz. Pallbearers were Edward Bast, Theo Erbsen, Alfred Hinrichs, Kenneth Erbsen, Elmer Hinrichs and Dwight Turner. Burial was in Lanark Cemetery

ELIZA JANE (PAISLEY) DEAN
, 80, for many years a resident of Savanna, died at the home of her daughter, Mr. C.N. Nelson, in Freeport early Saturday morning [10-10-1936]. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at Law funeral home with Rev. T. Stuart Cleworth officiating. Burial was in Zion Cemetery. Mrs. Dean was born in Washington township near Savanna December 29, 1855 [the daughter of William and Elizabeth (Brown) Paisley of Co. Monahan, Ireland] and lived in and near Savanna until about 3 years ago when she went to Freeport to make her home. Mr. Dean died a year and a half ago. Survivors are 3 sons, William of Savanna, John and Dewey of Freeport, a daughter, Mrs. Nelson of Freeport; 3 brothers, George Paisley of Bethel, Minn., Sam of Bend, Ore., and Robert of Savanna; a sister, Mrs. Grant Turner, Savanna; and 2 grandchildren.

MALENA (SIDDLES) DEAN
was born in Pa. August 25, 1838 and died at her home near Milledgeville, Oct. 2, 1908, aged 70yrs, 1 mo. and 8 da. She was married to Jas. Dean December 15, 1880. Besides her husband she leaves to mourn her departure two brothers, James Siddles of Coleta, Milan Siddles of Fran Valley, Cal. and two sisters Mrs. Jennie Burlingame of Clinton, Ia. and Mrs. Etta Todd of Milledgeville. She also leaves three step children Jas. Dean Jr. of Milledgeville, Mrs. Flora Miller of Livermore, Iowa and Mrs. Theressa Siddles of Coleta, Ill. The funeral services were conducted at the residence Sunday at 2 P.M. Rev. M. A. Witter officiating. The text used was Hos. 9;5. The music was furnished by members of the choir of the Brethern church. The pall bearers were Wm. Hacker, Nat Weaver, Albert Giese, Chas. Dieterle, Geo. Olmstead, and Walter Shoup. Interment in Bethel Cemetery.

FRANKLIN H. DIETZ
died at 4:30 a.m. today, April 26, 1957, at the home of his son, Victor. He was born on August 3, 1878 at Saint Louis. Survivors include two sons, Victor, and Harold of Chicago; and a sister in Chicago.
Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Frank Funeral Home. The Rev. John Main, pastor of the Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.

VICTOR DIETZ
of Mount Carroll died Sunday evening, January 19, 1975 at the Savanna City Hospital. Born December 28, 1907 in Saint Louis, Missouri, he was the son of Franklin and Jessie (Grover) Dietz. He married Florence Herdrick on September 30, 1935 in Chicago. Surviving are his widow; and a daughter, Mrs. Marvin (Diane) Apple of Chadwick. He was preceded in death by one brother.
Funeral service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Frank Funeral Home, Mount Carroll. The Rev. Eugene Fox, pastor of the Mount Carroll United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

RAY B. DRAIN
, of Savanna, an employee of Savanna Army Depot, died this morning at Jane Lamb Hospital, Clinton, Iowa. A veteran of World War It, he was a member of Savanna American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He also was a member of Moose Lodge.
Born Jan. 5, 1920, at Savanna, he was the son of James and Lola (North) Drain. He married Nelda Coppernoll April 27, 1943, at Kahoka, Mo. Surviving are his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Charles (Penny) Bales of Mount Carroll; two grandchildren; and a brother, Bruce of Prophetstown. His parents and a brother preceded him in death. Funeral service will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Law - Jones Funeral Home. The Rev. Jim Allen, pastor of Savanna First United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Savanna Township Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established for the church or Cancer Society.

JOHN S. DRESBACH
- Funeral services for John Dresbach were held at the Speer funeral home Sunday afternoon with the Rev. I. D. Leatherman officiating. Pallbearers were Ernest Burkholder, Charles Musselman, Floyd Zuck, Lloyd Peters, William Zick and William Snyder. Mrs. Floyd. Zuck and Mrs. Floyd Peters cared for the flowers. Burial was in the Lanark cemetery.
John S. Dresbach, son of John and Belinda Dresbach was born at Harrisburg, Pa., June 18, 1858. He spent his early boyhood in Pennsylvania
comlng with his parents to Jacksonville, Ill., in the autumn of the same year. He spent the remainder of his life in this county with the exception
of five years in Wisconsin. He was married to Lettie Stitt Feb. 9, 1887, in Mt. Carroll. One daughter, Alcinda was born to this union. Mrs. Dresbach died Feb. 1, 1935. Mr. Dresbach was a member of the Methodist church.
He was the third of a family of eleven children. All but three have preceded him in death, Mrs. Warren Moore, of Mt. Carroll, Frank, of
Aberdeen, S. D., and Albert of Mt. Carroll. He is also survived by his daughter, Mrs. Alcinda Lichty and two grandchildren, Kathryn and Robert Lichty.

LETTIE (STITT) DRESBACH
- Funeral services for Mrs. John Dresbach were held Sunday afternoon from the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ray Lichty. The Rev. P. F. Eckerle was in charge, assisted by the Rev. I.D. Leatherman. Selections were sung by Mrs. Hazel Mathias and Mrs. Sadie Bowers. The pallbearers were Lloyd Peters, Ernest Burkholder, Virgil Royer, William Snyder, Floyd Zuck and George Jones. Mrs. Mabel Burkholder and Mrs. Evelyn Zuck cared for the flowers. Burial was made in the Lanark cemetery. Lettie Stitt, daughter of Robert and Margaret Stitt, was born in Belleview, Jan. 1, 1864. She came to Carroll county with the family in 1890 and married John S. Dresbach on Feb. 9, 1887. Besides the husband she leaves one daughter, Mrs. Lichty and two grandchildren, Robert and Kathryn Lichty, all of Lanark.
