Louisa Lambert was only 16 years old in 1871, but it is likely that she advanced quickly because she attended country school. My mother also graduated from (Mt Carroll) High School early, just before her 16th birthday, and it was because all the primary grades were taught in one room, so kids who were bright could advance quickly and not just according to the calendar year. Some grades might only have one or two students learning at that particular level, so there was far less likelihood of slower students slowing down the class.
Louisa Lambert was the daughter of John & Mary (Watson) Lambert. She was born 10 January 1855 and died 15 March 1944.
Louisa married George Valentine Bickelhaupt 10 Jul 1877. Her chilren were Eva Bickelhaupt (Downing),
Charles Elmer Bickelhaupt & Grover Earl Bickelhaupt.
