Harold Henry Schroeppel was born October 4th (Year unknown) at Woodland Township, Carroll County Illinos. He was the son of Henry Schoeppel and Mary E. Kaufman. Henry was a graduate of the Class of 1917 at the University of Illinois.

He was married to Bertha Sharp.

His parents were also Carroll County natives. His father Henry, being born 5 May 1856 and his mother was born 17 Mar 1856 the daughter of Daniel & Fanny (Summy) Kaufman. Both Henry and Mary are buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carroll.
