
A wedding ceremony at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Asa Stewart, south of Coleta, united in marriage their daughter Jean and Eugene W. Litwiller, son of Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Litwillere of Milledgeville. The Rev. Paul Miller, pastor of the Dutchtown Church of the Brethren, Milledgeville, read the single ring service, which was witnessed by the immediate families of the bridal pair.
Vows were exchanged in front of the large picture window in the living room, above which were blue and white streamers and a white wedding bell. Pink carnations and sweet peas were used for decorations throughout the house.
The pianist, Mrs. Roger Thorngren, played "Love's Confiding," by Barrar, preceding the "Bridal Chorus" from "Lohnengrin," as the bridal party moved to the window. Strains of "At Prayer," by Rathburn, were sounded during the ceremony, and for the recessional the pianist played Mendelssohn's "Wedding March".
A white wool dress with white accessories were worn by the bride. She carried a bouquet of red roses. Miss Alice Wetzell, maid of honor, was attired in blue and there were red roses in her bouquet. Mrs. Stewart was in blue and Mrs. Litwiller in black, with shoulder bouquets.
There was a reception following the ceremony and refreshments were served in the dining room by Mrs. Fay Peugh, assisted by the Misses Betty Gilbert, and Juanita Pfundstein of Milledgeville and Miss Emily Geidner of Rock Falls. The three tier wedding cake was topped by a miniature bridal pair and surrounded by sweet peas at the base. Mrs. Litwiller, the bridegrooms mother, baked the cake.
Both Mr. Litwiller and his bride are graduates of Milledgeville high school. He also attended Iowa State college at Ames, Ia., last year. He is employed on the the Page farm near Chadwick, and the couple will reside in a new house built on the farm last summer, following a short wedding trip.
