Miss Ardeth Martin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Martin of Lanark and Harold Avey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Avey of Polo, were married in the Church of the Brethren in Lanark Saturday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The single ring ceremony was performed by the Rev. Clifford Paul.
Attendents were Miss Joyce Beck of Lanark and Edward Schnulle of Polo.
The bride wore a street length gold colored wool dress with black accessories and a shoulder corsage of white roses. Miss Beck wore a tan wool dress with brown accessories and a shoulder corsage of yellow baby mums.
The brides mother wore a black and aqua dress and a shoulder corsage of pink carnations. The bridegrooms mother chose and alice blue dress with black accessories and her corsage was made up of pink carnations.
A reception for the immediate families was held at the Martin home after which the couple went to Chicago. They will reside with the bridegrooms parents until Dec. 1 when they will move to Phoenix, Ariz.
Mrs Avey was graduated from Lanark high school last spring and since that time has been employed as a secretary at the National Lock company in Rockford. The bridegroom was graduated from Polo high school in 1944. He is engaged in farming with his father.
