This is the wedding day of a Mt. Carroll young lady and a Lanark gentleman, Miss Lula
Ray and Thomas Peat.
They went to Chicago this morning, accompanied by Miss Alma Force and Edward Rahn, of Lanark,
announcing that they would be married during the day. The hour and other facts have not yet been made
known to friends but no doubt at this writing their vows have been plighted.
They are expected to return soon and after December first will be home to friends in Polo, where the groom has been making his home and is holding a lucrative position. He is known to many Mt. Carroll people and is a young man who is worthy of their respect and esteem, in which he is held high. His bride is known to everybody in Mt. Carroll, where she has spent most of her life. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Ray, has acquired a splendid education and is a young lady who is highly regarded. She is a graduate of the Mt. Carroll schools and after her graduation was secretary to Superintendent Hagan of the schools. Leaving this position she entered the O. H. Martin dry goods store as clerk and so continued until a short time ago. Her friends are many and all will wish her joy and prosperity. Success to Mr. and Mrs. Peat is the wish of the Mirror-Democrat.
