Carl A. Pfieffer to Marjorie Deyo

Miss Marjorie Deyo, of this office and Carl A. Pfieffer, of this city, stole a march on their friends here and accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Ed Phillips went to Galena, ostensibly to spend the Fourth at the celebration there, but later called at the county clerk’s office, secured a marriage license and repaired to the Methodist parsonage, where Rev. Smith tied a connubial knot, uniting them for life.

Mr. Pfieffer is a young man well known here, being an expert mecanician on automobiles, a young man ambitious and industrious, and bound to succeed in life. His bride is a graduate of the 1922 high school class, and is a linotype operator at this office, where she has worked steadily since school is over. And Marjorie never dropped a hint to any of the office force that she was going away to get married until today. We forgive her and surely join with her many friends in the city in wishing her a most happy married life, long years, filled with sunshine. She is the eldest daughter of Mrs. George Deyo, as pleasant young lady to have around, talented and will make a fitting companion for the husband of her choice. Marjorie has no intention of giving up her position at present.

There is no date on this wedding but it was probably around 1922-1925. I believe the office referred to is the Mirror-Democrat newspaper office
