William James Quest to Ruth Velma Senneff

At eight o’clock this evening (August 18, 1928) the marriage of Miss Ruth Velma Senneff, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. H. B. Senneff of Chadwick, will wed William James Quest, son of Samuel Quest of Lanark. Miss Evelyn Spealman is to be the maid of honor, Kenneth Senneff of Chicago the best man. Norma Jean Hammond of Lanark is to be the ringbearer, carrying the golden circlet in a single lily that will repose on a plate of gold. Anita Jane Rahn is to be the flower girl.

Before the entrance of the bridal party Mrs. Oscar Rahn will sing, "Beloved It is Morn" and the processional will be through rooms lovely with swaying wedding bells, ferns and sheaves of gladioli, to an alcove of ferns flanked by tall baskets of white gladioli. A wedding bell is suspended above this alcove.

Oscar Daehler will sing "At Dawning" and as the single ring ceremony is performed by the Rev. F W Deutsche Mendelssohn’s "Spring Song" will be played softly.

The bridal gown is of white georgette with lace veil, the bouquet a shower of butterfly roses, sweet peas, gypsophilia and statice. Miss Spealman will be in green georgette, carrying a shepherd’s crook and basket of flowers.

After the ceremony a buffet lunch is to be served by Mrs. Oscar Daehler assisted by Margaret Hicks. Violet Spealman, Lydia Stadel, Mary Taylor, Helen Kingery and Harriet Zugschwerdt. Green and white will prevail in the decorations throughout the home, in which seventy relatives and friends will be assembled.

Sucher, Fair Haven; Mr. and Mrs. William Rister, Lanark; Samuel Quest, Lanark; the Rev. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Shaffer and Everett J. Shaffer, Shannon; Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Woy, Chicago; and Mrs. Emma Burket, Chicago.

The bride has for the past several years been in charge of the primary department of the Chadwick public school. Mr. Quest is a member of the firm Bacon & Quest, Chadwick. Mr. And Mrs. Quest will leave immediately for a short stay at the summer cottage of friends. They will be at home after September 1 in the Steger house on North Main Street.
