On Thursday evening last (16 January 1913) at the home of Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Puterbaugh, on Pearl Street, Lanark, occurred the marriage of their daughter Eva and Mr. Russel H. Royer.
The house was prettily decorated in white and green, and at 7:30 the bridal couple unattended took their places beneath an arch of white tinsel cord with a background of ferns, where Eld. P. F. Eckerle, of the Church of the Brethren, spoke the solemn words that made the two one.
Following the ceremony an elaborate wedding supper wsa served by the Misses Vivian Lichty, Lucille Landt, Marion Werntz, Lucy Wimer, Hazel Rowland and Iva Shaner.
The bride's gown was of white crepe de chene, trimmed in rose buds and lace.
About seventy-five relatives and friends were present. The wedding march, Lohengrin's, was played by Miss Lucy Wimer.
The couple received many useful and beautiful gifts.
Mr. and Mrs. Royer are both graduates of the Lanark High School, and in fact have spent their whole lives in this vicintiy where they are numbered among our most estimable young people. They will reside on the J. A. Royer farm north of Lanark.
