The marriage of Miss Norma Schneider, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Kenneth Schneider, of Mt. Carroll, and Lawrence E. Woessner, son of Mrs. Gladys Woessner, of Shannon, was solemnized Saturday afternoon (1 December 1945) at 1:30 in Bethel Evangelical church, Shannon, Rev. Paul Church being the officiating minister.
Miss Bernice Horberger and Mrs. Paul Unzicker, of Chadwick, were soloist and organist, giving a program before the wedding hour. The church was decorated with white pompon chrysanthemums, arranged against a background of ferns.
The bride, in a white satin gown, and fingertip veil held in a tiara of orange blossoms, entered the church with her father, who gave her in marriage. She carried a shower bouquet of white flowers. She wore a strand of pearls, the bridegroom’s wedding gift.
Miss Roberta Hook and Charles Burkholder, of Mt. Carroll, were the attendants. The bridesmaid wore a gown with pink silk jersey bodice and full net skirt, short matching veil, and carried a bouquet of pink flowers tied with ribbon streamers.
The ushers were Keith Law and J. Wallace Warner, of Lanark.
A reception followed the ceremony, at the home of the bride’s parents, in Mt. Carroll. Mr. and Mrs. Woessner left on a wedding trip and will reside on the groom’s farm, where they will be at home after the 6th of December.
The bride was formerly employed in the office of the Carroll county rationing board.
