VIRGIN - ADKINS
THREE VIRGINIA GIRLS MARRIED WITHIN A WEEK - Misses Myrtle Virgin, Martha Looker and Marion DeFrates are Brides. Dan Cupid has been active in Virginia despite the tortuous heat, as is evidenced by the fact that three local girls were married during the last week. Two of the weddings came as complete surprises, each being in the form of an elopment.
On June 29 Miss Myrtle Virgin 18 years old, daughter of Mrs. Nettie Virgin, who resides six miles southeast of this city, came home from Des Moines, Ia., where she is employed as a secretary in the Iowa State Children's home, to spend her vacation. On July 10 she went to Peoria where she was married to Carl Adkins of Beardstown. The young couple will make their home in Beardstown, where Mr. Adkins is remuneratively employed.
Mrs. Adkins was graduated from the Virginia High School at the age of 15 and last September completed a course at Brown's Business College in Jacksonville.
