Coroner's Jury Investigates Demise Of Mrs. Sarah B. Reed
Following an inquest conducted this morning, a coroner's jury composed of David E. Bruffett, William P. Smith, Louis Croiger, William Jones, F. W. Pullman, and George M. Johnson, returned a verdict that Mrs. Sarah Belle Reed, whose lifeless body was found in the gas filled bathroom asphyxiation or as the jury put it, "Came to her death by gas turned on with suicidal intent." All the evidence showed that Mrs. Reed was irresponsible, because of a nervous affliction. Funeral services were conducted at 2:00 o'clock this afternoon from the home, 403 West Green Street, by Rev. J. J. Wilson, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church. Interment was made in Woodlawn Cemetery. ["Urbana Daily Courier" January 15, 1919... Contributed by Barb Moksnes]
