Wakeman and Cynthia lost 3 young children in the 1860s and

Hoosier Prairie Baptist Church Cemetery in Clay County.

By 1871 Wakeman, Cynthia, and 7 remaining children moved to
Ste Genevieve County MO, Saline Twp. in SE MO where he bought 120 acres
in Jan 1871, and 180 acres in Nov of that same year.
In 1875 Wakeman joined the Pleasant Hill United Baptist
Church, near the village of Avon, MO
1880 Federal Census Ste Genevieve Co MO Several
married children lived near Wakeman and Cynthia.
Their oldest son had moved to Schuyler County in northern MO.
"Disease of the heart" was mentioned in the family.
1882 - 1883 Deaths of 3 young adult children, ages
32, 28, and 25, as a direct result or contributing factor of
heart disease. (Cardiac disease has been a predominate health
problem in many of Wakeman's descendants, down to the present
generations.)
1886 A shotgun hanging above the kitchen door fell
to the floor and discharged, wounding Cynthia in the ankle.
Trauma was so severe amputation was necessary. Cynthia died either late
1880s or early 1890s.
1896 Wakeman wrote his will 14 Jan 1896.
He was living in Schuyler Co MO
1899 Wakeman's will was filed for probate 6 Feb
1899.
He is buried in Myers Cemetery, near Queen City, Schuyler
County MO.
