This is otherwise known as "The Roll of Honor", published by the government in 1929. It is supposed to be a record of all the burial places of all the soldiers and sailors of all the wars up to that date, but is probably not the most accurate of documents ever produced. Still, I feel I need to present what the government has published "as is".
Listed cemeteries in Coles include: Ashmore, Baptist, Beals, Bethel, Braun, Browns Chapel,
Calvary, Camp Ground, Catholic, Charleston, Concord, Cooks Mill, Craig, Dodrich, Dodge Grove, Drummade,
Dry Grove, Embarrass, Fairfield, Fair View, Folger, French, Gordon, Greasy Point, Green Hill, Humboldt, Indian,
I.O.O.F., Janesville, Kebly/Kelly, Lafler, Lower Muddy, Maple Hill, Mattoon, Methodist, Mitchell, Monticello,
Mound, Mt. Tabor, Mt. Zion, Muddy Point, Murphysboro,
Oak, Oakland, Orterlin, Parker, Pleasant Grove, Pleasant Prairie, Rosedale Oakland, Roselawn, Rutherford, Salixbury,
St. Omar, Smith, Upper Muddy, Wright, Zion Hill and Unknown.
War Codes are B=Blackhawk War; C=Civil War; I=Indian; M=Mexican; R=Revolutionary; S=Spanish; W=World War
Cemetery names are typed here as they are listed in the book. I've noted contributors' corrections underneath the pertinent cemetery listing.
