Boyer, Crozier, Davis, Price

I am looking for the marriage and fam. info of Tomas John /John Thomas Boyer he was born in IL abt 1898 he married Lena Crozier when??? She was born abt 1898 probably arounf the Crawford co., IL area probably either Flat Rock IL Honey Creek or Robinson area. Her father was Charles E. Crozier,.  Sometime either before marrying Tom and Lena moved to Ind where they had thier first son Robert Boyer 1920.in Ind. They lived in Lake co. and then in White co., Ind. in Monticello above Lake Shaefer north of Indiana Beach, owning and renting houses under the title of  "UNCLE TOM'S CABIN'S".  He died around 1979 she died abt 1985 He worked at the Carbide comp. in Lake co. before moving to Monticello.

I don't know either of their parents names, etc. their son(my grt) John married Margaret Jane Price Jan. 1875 and later settled in Lawrence co. where they both died. Russell, Mitchell, Davis, Gilmore

Death info for my gggrt Grandmother Mazilla Russell, Mitchell married to Cyrus Mitchell. She was last seen in 1885 for Crawford co., Oblong twp. head count but not in the 1890 or 1900 census or in death book for that county, Her children are buried in the Oblong cemt.

In 1906 Cyrus moved with their son Geo. Washington Mitchell and wife Mary Francis(Fanny Russell) to Coles co. in Mattoon twp. there Cyrus and Geo. and Fanny are buried in the Dodge Grove cemt. In 1906 Aug., Cyrus died the local papers didn't mention Mazilla`s passing. The Crawford co. archives don't have her either in their death book.
The other 2 kin are my ggrt Grandfather Edmund Davis(b.1824 Ky) death ??? May 1881 buried ??? and his wife my ggrt Lucinda Galmore /Gilmore/Gilemere. b. 1827 Ind. her parent s might have been born in Ky / I don't know of either of their death info .  She might have remarried. They married in may 1844 their names were mis-spelled as Edward, hers Gilemere, Gilmore/Galemore Jasper co., IL.
I don't know anything of their parents, I don't know if their parents even came to IL. I also looked in the Frankfort KY area as I was told they lived temp. before coming to IL between 1830-1840.

Goodwin

I am reposting this query as hopefully someone will have uncovered
some info about this family.

Although I have posted queries in several places and contacted many other researchers, information on this large family with probably hundreds of descendants is quite sparse. I have paid for research on location in Crawford County, IL, and contacted historical and genealogical societies in that area. I have also written letters to existing Goodwin families in Crawford County, IL.

Only one or two people have surfaced who are actively doing research on this family. Below is a summary of the family and some of the blank spots:

*William (b: about 1775) and *Ruth Goodwin arrived in
Dearborn County, IN probably in the early 1800's. They are
shown on the 1820 census in Dearborn County. They moved to
Crawford County. IL in about 1822. Ruth died in about 1824,
after the birth of son Hiram, and William remarried
Elizabeth York, having three additional children. Several
children (with Ruth) were born in Dearborn County, IN:

Jehu Goodwin (b: about 1805, probably IN). He is shown on
probate documents of Crawford County as a minor child in
1827?, probably the eldest. Also the on-line records wrongly
show him as John Goodwin. Another Jehu Goodwin (b: about
1775 in IN, according to Rev. War Pension records), is shown
in Dearborn County, IN who is older, may be brother or
father of subject William Goodwin. Jehu is shown on the 1820
census in Dearborn County, the in 1830 on the Crawford
County, IL census then later moved back to Dearborn County.
Married to Mary Heart and/or Elizabeth Martin.

Other Children: (William and Ruth)
Jarrett Goodwin (b: about 1816 in IN, died about 1839 in
IL). Married Sarah Wilkerson from KY in Vandenburg County,
IN, on December 5, 1833. One known child, William Jarrett
Goodwin, b: 1834, married Rachael Taylor Short in April, 1858.

Silas Goodwin (b: about 1816 in IN), he is shown on the 1850
Census in Crawford County as age 35. At least six children,
all born in Crawford County, IL. John, Silas, Moses, Jehu, Ruth,
William.

Ransom Goodwin (b: about 1815 in IN, died 1898 in IL),
married Patsy Ann "Martha" Hart in Ripley, IN in October
1835. They had at least nine children. Alexander, Nelson, Albert,
John, Issac, Mary E., Hiram, Elijah, and George.

Mary Goodwin (b: about 1819 in IN) married Moses Walters in
Feb 1838 in Crawford County, IL. They had at least nine children.

William J. Goodwin (Jr.) (b: May 1817, probably IN although some
records show IL, died Dec 1902 in Bellingham, WA). Married
Catherine Roberts in Feb 1839 in Parke County IN. They had
five children, three who lived to move to Oregon Territory
(Clark County, WA) with them in 1849. John Wesley, William Jr, and
Ruth Jane.

Moses E. Goodwin (b: 1821 in IN probably, died in Pendelton,
OR in 1871). Married Aura May Morse in July 1846 in Iowa
County, WI. They had two children born in WI prior to
crossing the plains to Oregon Territory (Clark County) in
about 1850. They founded the town of Pendleton, OR. Children were
William Wallace and Olive Irene.

Hiram Goodwin (b: August 1824 in Crawford County, IL died
before 1880) married Minerva Boreing (various spellings) in
January 1944 in Crawford County, IL. They had nine children.
Sarah Ellen, Thomas, William F., Rachael E., Martin, Allan, Mary J.,
Eldridge, and John.

Children of William Goodwin and Elizabeth York (second marriage):

Elijah Warren Goodwin (b: October 1828 Crawford County, IL,
died after 1879 in MO), married Matilda Horne in 1853 in MO.
There were two children: John Baxter and William Taylor.
Elizabeth York Goodwin lived with Elijah in Atchison County, MO and
died there.

Harriet Francis Goodwin (b: June 1832 Crawford County, IL,
died January 1879 in IL), married Jerimiah Watts in June of
1851 in Crawford County, IL. They had at least three children: Smith,
Francis, and Palmer.

Sarah Ellen Goodwin (b: June 1826 in Crawford county, IL
died 1858) married Jefferson Eastridge in March of 1843 in
Crawford County, IL. No records of children.

BLANK SPOTS: I have been unable to find any records of
William and Ruth Goodwin prior to 1800.
-When did they come to Dearborn County, IN?
-When did they marry, what was Ruth's maiden name?
-Where was William born (conflicting records), where was
Ruth born (some records show NY)?
-Who was William's father/mother? I believe when I find this
I can tie them to an existing Goodwin family.

OTHER PLAYERS:
Jehu Goodwin who came to Dearborn County IN in 1800. since
William named his eldest son Jehu, this could be Williams father.

Moses Goodwin of Dearborn County, IN in the early 1800's.
This may have been a brother to either William or elder Jehu.

If anyone recognizes any of these names, and/or is doing
research on this family,  I would appreciate an e-mail
(jbrass@foothill.net)

GRAMBY

I AM LOOKING FOR THE HISTORY OF THE GRAMBY'S.  I ONLY HAVE INFORMATION OF THEM LIVING IN THE ROBINSON AREA AROUND THE EARLY PART OF THE CENTURY.  THE TOWN WAS NICKNAMED PUCKERHUT.  THERE WAS A FRONT STREET AND A BACK STREET.  AS I WAS TOLD SOME OF THE RECORDS WERE DESTROYED IN A FIRE, PROBALLY IN THE FIRST QUARTER OF A CENTURY.  ANY INFORMATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

PAULA YANNEY, KELLER TEXAS

Wynn, Truitt

I am searching for information on a Mary ? born 1818 in Illinois. She had a son Robert Homer Wynn born Aug. 1853 in Illinois. He married Ellen Truitt in 1856 in Crawford Co, IL and 4 children were born in Crawford Co.

Susan Kidd

Shaw

I am searching for family history for my great great grandmother, Ella May
Shaw, born 5-02-1865. Her father was Samuel Shaw, and she was born in
Robinson. Her mother is "unknown", and she was adopted by David Mikeworth of
Oblong, by 1870, as she was listed on his census report at that time. I am
deeply interested in her mother, as women in my family are affected by a
genetic condition that leads to death at or before the age of 40. The
condition skips generations. Ella's daughter (my great grandmother) died of
it, as did my grandmother's daughter. The condition will effect my
generation, and I am the only female. I am certain the same happened to
Ella's mother. According to Ella's census reports, both of her parents were
born in Illinois. Ella was married to Lewis Rezin Bowman 4-04-1886 in
Crawford Co, and they had 8 children in Oblong, and the last one when they
moved to Missouri. If anyone has any information at all on either Samuel,
Ella, her mother, sibilings etc.... Thanks!!
