OFFER TO DO LOOKUPS

In sorting Greenup History and my Genealogy  papers  (mixed up and everywhere)  I found a long misplaced record.  Had heard my Grandfather had a brother he lost contact with.  Found the name in a History of 123rd Infantry, Civil War...1862-1865  has all of Cumberland Co. plus many more...residences from Peoria/Springfield, Indianapolis, Ky, etc. tells mustering in,  out,  if killed in battle and where and lists Companys A thru G.  If someone is looking for a lost relative that could have died in the Civil War, I will be glad to look for their name.
What I have is a history that contains the name of every alumni of Greenup, Toledo and Neoga schools from 1890 to 1949.  I will be glad to look up in my book if anyone needs help.

Linda (Wood) Ott - Martinez, CA(lindafishman@earthlink.net)

Hello,
I started tracing my heritage after I retired & went through tons of papers saved by my Great-aunt. I've attached an image of my 2nd Great-grandfather obit; when I checked the Brush Creek cemetery records, he wasn't listed. Please feel free to add this information if possible. I have so much more to find such as information on his wife Rachel Bartlett. It's interesting that their daughter Margaret married my great-grandfather John Cross; is this the same Margaret Cross of the "Margaret Cross Norton Building"?
Thank you, Veronica Morsey (snowbabe1@earthlink.net)

I have extensive researching on the Clem and Prentice families from Cumberland Co.  Willing to share info with anyone knowing burial location of Geo. Washington Clem and other sons.  Have located David A. Clem's grave but no one else.  This was a large family with many sons and much land.

I am searching for any information on Aaron Merzi and Sarah (Jones) Phillips, who moved to the area after 1870.  They are buried in the Washington Cemetery, Crooked Creek Twnshp. Aaron was born in 1837 and died in 1919.  Sarah was born in 1840 and died in 1913.  There are also  several of their children and their spouses buried there.  I am mainly looking for other relatives who are doing reseach and could possibly help me find where Aaron and Sarah's parents are buried.

I would like to be added to this list please. My name is Jodi Neely, email is Jodi361@sbcglobal.net. Anyone researching these families please contact me, Matthews, Phipps/Philips, Furry, Owings.
I am researching the Matthews family in Cumberland Co. IL. Calvin Matthews lived there in 1860 as did his two married sons Madison and John. Also a brother of Calvin's lived in Cumberland Co. in 1860, his name was Alfred. I have researched this family back to the 1600s and would love to share information with other researchers.
John Matthews was my gt gt grandfather and he married a Sally Jane who is listed as his wife on the 1860 census for Cumberland Co.  I am trying to find Sally's parents and I believe I have narrowed it down to three families that were living in Cumberland Co. in 1860. They are Thomas Phipps or Philips, his wife's name was Eve. I found this family in the 1850, 60 and 70 census for Cumberland Co.
The next family is John Furry, wife Jane, they are found in the 1850 and 1860 census' for Cumberland Co. Their son William is counted in the 1870 census.
The next family is Jeptha Owings, wife Cynthia. they are in the 1850 and 1860 census' for Cumberland Co.
Thanks for your help and for posting all the census records on your web site.
Jodi

I am researching family names of MAPLES, AREHART, ADAM, McDermott, and related relatives from Cumberland, Coles,Clark and Jasper county. My family arrived in that area in the 1830's  (1838) WILLIAM & MARY MAPLES came from North Carolina through Indiana to Clark county. My GG Grandfather and GG Grandmother Marmaduke and Annie Maples are buried in Drummond Cemetery near Toledo. I put a headstone at their gravesite 2 years ago at the north east side to the cemetery. We had no date of his death to put on the stone. They are buried with a Daughter or Granddaughter? Sarah. I can find no information of Marmaduke's parents death . William was to have ran off with a younger woman in the 1830's according to the History of Clark County. Mary was listed later in census along with some of her children in the 1850 census.
Thank you for hosting this site.
